RWH was approached by the building owner to provide a wayfinding device for the existing retail building located at 369 South Broadway that would also provided screening of the mechanical equipment located on the roof. RWH proposed options that would primarily modify the corner restaurant tenant. The Client selected the option that included a light box tower concept. This consisted of red metal panel and red colored glass tower element, juxtaposed by a continuous corrugated red metal panel parapet wall that acts as a mechanical roof screen. The design solves the issue of visibility with the red light box that draws attention to the site while also providing the continuous metal screening to hide the roof equipment.
